"All of your questions could be answered if you put Jehovah to the test" - but not if you put the organization to the test!
That's now the unforgiveable sin in many J.W.'s eyes. (1st Peter 3:15 is now a no-no for the r&f)
as i have revealed in other threads my mother and i havent talked in over 2 years.
she has been keeping her distance, therefore staying loyal to jehovah.
she found me on facebook.

so sunday afternoon tea with my "anionted" mum and her old witness holy friends.
they start talking trump how he "is gonna do somthing to start armegedon.
" no sad faces about this apocalipse.
@ prologos - as the scripture shows, Babylon the great is the mother of the so-called harlots - not the complete entity! (Rev. 17:5) Logically, BTG represents the worst and most influential of all these "harlots", and her ultimate demise apparently brings the other "harlots" to their end as well.
Doesn't solve the riddle of who BTG actually is though!
i just wanted to add my name to the many number of people who have awakened from the cult.
i have been lurking for probably 2 years now.
and i'm quite certain there are many more lurking and reading just like me.. i have to be honest and say that i most likely will not be contributing much to the discussion board.
Welcome Lancashire lass. Enjoy the association here.
not playing their game, as i've learned here.
they came to my door to find me with a full beard and a nightmare before christmas hoody, playing a video game where the characters "do not act according to bible principles", and i happily answered the door.
i simply smiled and told them no when they asked if i have a minute.
Beautifully dealt with!!
As a very wise geneticist once advised me, "Searcher, if you've got nothing to say, don't say it!
You gave them nothing!
so as i announced last week, my wife and i started our fade and i sent in a letter to our body that i was stepping down and cited the arc as the reason and insisted that we not be bothered.
my wife told a few relatives in person that we weren't going to attend meetings any longer (immediate shunning occurred, the new videos must be effective) and that what we found with the arc shocked us etc etc.
i have an inside track on how this is all going down by an awake elder on the body, co told them to handle the matter quickly.
Say nothing more, give them nothing more - not even your time!
When they contact you to "request" a meeting with you, politely ask what the meeting is about. When they tell you what's on their mind, simply say that you are grateful for their "offer", but that you are having to deal with private & personal issues which have sorely troubled you - and if things change, you will gladly call them!
If you want to fade, I'd try to minimise/defuse the statements already made to others.
If the call reveals that their "swords" are drawn, your Plan B looks likely.
I wish you well.
okay there has been lots of buzz about the feb 2017 wt where they say the governing body is not inspired nor infallible.
yet, they are still using the baptism questions.
the second one being... "do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah’s witnesses in association with god’s spirit-directedorganization?".
They don't have to be inspired - because they have the same status as Jesus Christ!
Watchtower January 2017, page 28, par. 19 - "As we follow their direction, (the G.B.) therefore, we follow our Leader, Jesus."
By extension therefore, Jesus Christ would prophesy wrong dates for Armageddon, would shield paedophiles from the "superior authorities", and would continually reverse accepted doctrines!
There's nothing like a faithful & discreet slave! And they are nothing like one.
the inactive sister used the word "faded" today and i am wondering if she has been on this site or not?
.
"Falling/fallen away" was what I used to hear regarding those who stopped attending meetings etc.
i have always been told as a jw that trinitarians, particularly baptists, are just the worst people to argue with out in service.
i have always been told it was the world with a veil over their eyes.
the hypocritical irony is that so many witnesses are completely stubborn and willing to believe in magic before they believe anything against their dogma.
Unitarianism, binitarianism, or trinitarianism? It's as easy as 1,2,3! :)
i apologise for the sarcastic title, lol.
so anyways i have been doing some research over the years and it would seem that evidence can be gathered to support any claim a person can make.
evolutionists see evidence of evolution, creationists see evidence of creation and each religion can find an excuse to call itself the true religion.
Thanks to the information tsunami of the internet, it has become clear that there are opposing, qualified experts for virtually every topic or discipline. We can choose which experts we think sounds more credible.
Examples; Kinder surprise eggs do/don't contain carcinogens; homeopathy does/doesn't have beneficial results; butter/margarine is bad for you.
first time posting after years of reading, the things i have learned here have gradually helped to open my eyes to the reality of this religion.
though i have been mentally out for some time, lately i have stopped going to meetings and service.
the elders are calling and i have been ignoring them, i am trying to get up the courage to finally break free and never go back.
Welcome BeardFreedom.
As Freddo said - take things slowly and easy if you want to fade.
Best wishes for a pain-free exit!
You have a P.M.
